This is Prophetic!: Opera Inspiring the World and the World Inspiring Opera

Opera is everywhere - even in the places you'd least expect it! This is Prophetic! allows audiences to meet the modern counterparts (like the Little Mermaid, Miss Saigon and RENT) of some of opera's most beloved heroines , as well as meet the operatic versions of some of pop culture's greatest hits (like Bob Dylan and the former First Lady of the United States).

Song to the Moon from Rusalka (Antonin Dvorak)

Rusalka tells the story of The Little Mermaid, Hans Christian Andersen's charming Disney princess. Song to the Moon sees Ruslaka as she prays to the moon moments after seeing her prince, asking that the moon, who shines over the whole earth, watch over her beloved. 

Forever Young from Mr. Tambourine Man (John Corigliano)

John Corigliano takes the songs of Bob Dylan and resets them in settings that both shock and provoke thought. Forever Young, the last song in the cycle, wishes the audience well in all aspects of life.
